In conjuction with her performing, Bili also has a deep passion for education and has developed a reputation as an engaging teacher with the ability to inspire and nurture students of all ages. Bili holds a Masters Degree in performance/education where her research into the bowing techniques of the renowned string pedagogue, Ivan Galamian, has attracted considerable interest. In addition, she brings a wealth of nineteen years professional experience in music education, the performing arts and associated managerial roles.
As a violin, viola and chamber music teacher, Bili has held positions at prominent institutions within Asia and Australia. Her previous appointments have included head string tutor for the Guangzhou Symphony Youth Orchestra China, head of strings/music director for the Young Performers Academy at the Wesley Institute Sydney, lecturer in violin and viola at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music as well as having a successful private studio. She has a thorough knowledge of the AMEB and Trinity College of Music syllabi and a number of her students have been successful in obtaining scholarships to various private schools and institutions. Her fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, English and French has also been a great asset when teaching.
As part of Bili's regular duties during her tenure at the associated institutions with, she has conducted numerous student ensembles and orchestras. Furthermore, Bili has also played an active role in raising the standard of string, ensemble and orchestral performances and she takes great delight in watching students grow and flourish; Bili has maintained and developed strong relationships with past and current students.
